SECURITY OFFICERS

A vacancy exists for disciplined, vigilant and professional individuals to join our team as Security Officers. As a leading financial institution, we are committed to maintaining a safe and secure environment for our employees, customers and assets. Opportunities are available in Berbice and Georgetown.

KEY DUTIES

  • Protect the Bank’s employees, customers, premises, equipment and assets from loss, damage, theft or unauthorized access.
  • Maintain a visible security presence and ensure compliance with the Bank’s security policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and operate security systems, including CCTV cameras, alarm systems and access control mechanisms.
  • Control and monitor entry and exit points to ensure the safety of employees, customers and visitors.
  • Conduct regular security inspections of assigned areas and promptly report any irregularities.
  • Respond professionally and effectively to security incidents, emergencies, alarms, medical situations, fires or disturbances.
  • Assist in maintaining order and ensuring a positive customer experience within the Bank’s facilities.
  • Prepare accurate and timely reports on incidents, observations and activities occurring during assigned shifts.
  • Perform any other security-related duties assigned by Management.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Age 25 to 40 years.
  • A sound Secondary Education.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong observation, problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • The ability to remain calm, alert and professional in high-pressure situations.
  • A high level of integrity, reliability, confidentiality and personal discipline.
  • Good physical fitness and the ability to stand or patrol for extended periods.
  • A neat and professional appearance.
  • The willingness to work twelve (12) hour shifts, six (6) days per week, including weekends and public holidays when required.
  • Previous experience in a security, law enforcement or related field would be an asset.
  • Certification in Security Services, First Aid or related disciplines will be an asset.

HANDYMAN

A vacancy exists for a reliable, skilled and proactive individual to join our team as a Handyman. As a leading financial institution, we are committed to maintaining safe, functional and well-presented facilities that support our employees and customers.

KEY DUTIES

  • Perform routine maintenance of the Bank’s premises.
  • Maintain the Bank’s external areas, including landscaping, gardening, walkways, fences, drains, gutters, parking areas and signage.
  • Conduct regular inspections of facilities and promptly identify and address maintenance issues.
  • Repair and maintain doors, locks, windows, shelving, blinds, furniture and office equipment.
  • Assemble and install furniture, fixtures, appliances, signage, whiteboards, artwork and related equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on building systems and equipment to minimize operational disruptions.
  • Ensure all external lighting, security fixtures and facility-related equipment remain operational and in good condition.
  • Assist with office relocations, renovations, special projects and the setup of Bank events and activities.
  • Maintain an organized inventory of maintenance tools, equipment, materials and supplies and report replenishment needs.
  • Observe and comply with all occupational health, safety and security requirements while performing duties.
  • Ensure that maintenance activities do not compromise Bank security systems, surveillance coverage or the protection of Bank assets.
  • Liaise with contractors and service providers as directed and monitor work performed on Bank premises.
  • Prepare maintenance reports and promptly notify Management of any major defects or repairs requiring specialized attention.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Two (2) to five (5) years of experience in a similar capacity.
  • Working knowledge of basic tools, power equipment and fundamental building repair techniques.
  • Physically fit and capable of lifting heavy objects, climbing ladders, working at heights and performing manual tasks for extended periods.
  • High level of trustworthiness, attention to detail and excellent time management.
